THE PROBLEM
India has a lot of music streaming websites that cater to the mainstream music listening audience, like Apple Music, Spotify, Gaana, Saavn etc. But there are scores of talented indie music artists, whose only channel of outreach is gigs at pubs and Indie festivals.
Trunkit music was launched as a platform for the Indie Music Audiences to discover new and fresh music on the go, as well as the artists to showcase and broadcast their new music.
It evolved into a preferences based Indie music radio, with music from over 500 Indie artists from the Indian Indie Scene. The music landscape in India is going through a renaissance with very few channels to capture this phenomenon. Trunkit is one of the only music websites, catering to the Indie purists out there.
USERS
Broadly the audience would be any listener with a keen ear for good music, but our core target group would be a fan or an avid listener of Indie music. They would frequent Indie Festivals or Gigs at pubs, always on the lookout for a fresh sound. They haveĀ preferred genres and bands that they follow and keep themselves updated on music from the same. Their social groups usually reflect their music preferences as well.
USER STORY
We created storyboards to flesh out the user journey for Maya’s and Kunal’s persona. The Storyboard below show’s Maya’s user journey, where she hears a new indie band at a Local Pub gig and how she was able to discover the band on Trunkit Music. She could save the songs to her Trunk and add them to her curated list of Indie songs and artists on her Trunkit profile.
